The outstanding effort continued at the All Schools Cross Country carnival at Ulverstone where 32 of our students represented our school with great pride. It was wonderful to get such positive feedback from not only our teachers who attended but also the organising committee around our East Devonport students’ efforts and behaviour on the day. Well done to all our students who went to the all schools carnival.

The Devonport Playhouse was abuzz with excitement on Friday with the launch of 'Let's Get Talking', an initiative of the Devonport Collective Primary Schools (Devonport, Hillcrest, Miandetta, Nixon St., East Devonport, and Spreyton) and The East Devonport CFLC. This project is a transformative initiative designed to empower families with young children by emphasising the importance of oral language development at home during the crucial 0-5 years age. This initiative aims to make a meaningful impact in the local community, ensuring children have the foundational language skills needed for lifelong learning and success.

As part of the School Association role, we continually need to update policies that support how our school operates. At our last meeting we endorsed our new uniform policy, to bring it up to date and in line with requirements from DECYP. We have sent out via Seesaw some parts of this policy and a full copy of the policy is available either in paper form from the school office or via email. This update was the result of an extremely rigorous process, involving community, teachers, students and the guiding policies of the Department.

Excitement is certainly building towards our 1st ever school colour fun run to be held on Friday the June 20. In anticipation of the day several teachers have “volunteered” to be slimed as we reach certain fundraising targets. We are certainly looking forward to the event and hope that everybody can be involved.
